June 3

Cooper Lodge (shelter) -- 27 miles

I enjoyed today's hiking to the point I would call it my favorite day so far. Did not see a great many things, but it was just a wonderful day. Sunny mid-70s at the hottest. It was not an easy day however, especially in the end. I had my 1st constant 2000 ft climb since Virginia. At the end of the day...the last 3.5 miles. The grade wasn't bad, but I walked into town and ate ~10 miles from camp, and I forgot to eat before Mount Killington...so I almost blacked out 1/2 way up because I was trying to makie it to the top before stopping--->stupid idea.. Got to see a beautiful sunset while enjoying some chicken Ramen and some chicken tenders that I carried from the mom and pop place that I ate at lunch. Into Killington tomorrow for a mail drop (thanks a ton Mom!). I've almost caught the group that calls themselves "The Fearless 4"...been following them for the last 6 states. They're within a day's hike of me right now...I can smell them.

PS I wonder every day if I'm starting to lose my mind.
