Upper Goose Pond Cabin -- 36 miles
Biggest day yet. Surprised to find the cabin's caretaker present and propand lights/stove. I also finnaly ran into Easy Goin' (been following him the entire trip!) took me 13.5 hour to do 36 miles. I feel like superman! But it is bedtime for the man of steel.

My name is Cody Zurhellen and I am 23 years old. Last season 3 close friends of mine hiked the Appalachian Trail and initially I had planned to hike with them. However, for a number of reasons I decided to stay home and work. After hiking the New Jersey section with them I knew that I had missed out on a huge opportunity. So I decided on the drive home that I would undertake the trip the following season. Well, here we are...and its time for me to start out.
